original is built local-first. Your notes, reminders, contacts, and markdown
files stay on your Mac.

## What stays on your device

Everything you edit. original reads your Apple Notes, Reminders, and Contacts
directly on-device and writes changes back through Apple's own frameworks. Your
note content is never uploaded to our servers as part of normal use. The
markdown folder is a folder on your disk that you control.

## What the website collects

original.me is a static marketing site. We use privacy-respecting,
aggregate analytics (page views, no cross-site tracking). If you sign up for
launch updates, we store the email address you give us solely to email you about
original. You can unsubscribe at any time.

## Optional cloud features

If a future version offers opt-in cloud sync or remote access, it is off by
default, scoped per item, and end-to-end encrypted. We will update this policy
before any such feature ships and never enable it silently.

## Third parties

The App Store purchase flow is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Email for launch updates is handled by our email provider solely to deliver
those messages.
