# Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the original app and the original.me website,
operated by system operator.

## The app

original is a native macOS application that reads and edits data already on
your Mac — Apple Notes, Reminders, Contacts — and a folder of markdown files you
control. You are responsible for the data you edit and for keeping your own
backups. original includes safety features (backup-on-first-sync, conflict
copies) but is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

## Purchases

original is distributed through the Apple App Store. Purchases, subscriptions,
refunds, and taxes are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. Pro features
and the write-back engine are unlocked by your App Store purchase.

## Acceptable use

Don't use original to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to
circumvent Apple's platform protections. We may update the app and these terms;
material changes will be posted here.
